We’ll always be Daydream believers here at Market of Stars! Born from our love of romance and whimsy, The Daydreamer is a print that feels as though it wandered out of a fairytale. Created using an exquisite hand-coloured etching from the 1880s called The Bower of Roses, it depicts a woman who has drifted into sleep in a grassy nook where roses climb and spill overhead. An open book of poetry rests with her, as if she slipped into dreams mid-verse. Around her, the world softens—ribbons flutter from a pair of delicate ballet slippers, and a charming family of rabbits from an antique lithograph watch over her slumber with quiet curiosity. The trim is edged with painted roses circa 1800 (borrowed from an antique dressing screen found in New York) adding a whisper of old-world charm. Rendered in lush tones of chartreuse and deep teal, with bright pink roses scattered like dreams, The Daydreamer carries the magic of a story half-remembered—romantic, serene, and touched with the enchantment of a Sleeping Beauty dream.
